We do not accept affiliate compensation, sponsorships, or commissions. ## About this site Picks By Humans (https://picksbyhumans.com) is a small editorial publication focused on consumer iPhone, iPad, and cross-platform apps. We publish ranked lists in categories like productivity, calorie tracking, journaling, focus, language learning, podcasts, reading, sleep, and study tools. The site has two named human reviewers and no third reviewer. Every review on the site is written by one of them, by hand, after at least two to three weeks of daily use. We do not generate content with AI tools. We do not use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other model to write reviews. The keyboards belong to humans. ## Editorial principles The four commitments that define this publication are simple and short: 1. **Human-written.** Every review on Picks By Humans is written by a named, identifiable human reviewer who has personally tested the app being reviewed. We do not use AI tools to generate, draft, or rewrite reviews. 2. **No affiliate compensation.** We are not enrolled in any affiliate program from any app developer. We do not earn commissions on installs, signups, or subscriptions referred from this site. There are no outbound affiliate URLs anywhere on the site. 3. **No sponsorships.** We do not run sponsored articles, sponsored sections, sponsored newsletter slots, or sponsored social posts. Rankings and inclusion in lists cannot be purchased. 4. **Long-term testing.** Minimum review-window is two to three weeks of daily use. We do not source from affiliate program directories — we don't have logins to any of those networks. Every app on the longlist is downloaded and used daily for a minimum of two weeks. Apps with broken sync, ads in paid tiers, or aggressive paywall escalations are dropped immediately. Apps that look good in a five-minute demo but become tedious by week two are dropped. For categories with verifiable accuracy dimensions (calorie tracking, sleep tracking, running tracking), we run cross-checks against ground-truth measurements where possible, and cite independent third-party validation when it exists. Marketing claims are not accuracy claims. We re-test every list at least once a year. The "Last updated" line on each article is the actual date of the most recent re-test.
